At Mars Hill, Dan Brewer hit a solo home run, a double and knocked in two runs to lift Central Aroostook over Hodgdon. Kasey Brewer added a home run, single and two RBIs for the Panthers. Mitch Folsom doubled and singled with an RBI. Dan McGillicuddy hit a three-run double to pace Hodgdon. Jamie Ryan and Eric Ryan doubled.

Rockland 5, Waterville 2

At Rockland, the Tigers scored five runs in the fifth, on a three-run home run by Andy Murphy and a two-run blast by Nick Little, to hand Waterville its first loss. Dave McGuire and Luke Morrill each added two singles for the winners and Joe Nelson doubled to back wining pitcher Little, who didn’t walk a batter. Cam Sawyer doubled twice to lead Waterville.

Searsport 11, Sumner 1

At Searsport, Evan Kingsbury and Rocky Faunce teamed up on a six-inning three-hitter, striking out five and walking three, as Searsport beat Sumner High of East Sullivan. Matt Bagley had two singles and two RBIs for the winners and Kingsbury added an RBI single. Matt Manning had a run-scoring single for Sumner.

George Stevens 1, WA Raiders 0

At Blue Hill, senior right hander Peter Dickinson tossed a three-hit shutout as George Stevens Academy beat Washington Academy of East Machias. Dickinson struck out 17 and walked none to improve to 2-1. Nate Hines walked and scored on a Tom Crowe sacrifice fly in the fourth. Crowe and Josh Gale singled. Ryan Schoppee, Mike Lenfestey and Matt Jenkins singled for the Raiders.

Belfast 7, Maranacook 0

At Belfast, junior Mike Berry pitched a two-hit shutout to lift Belfast over Maranacook of Readfield. Berry alllowed two walks and struck out three for Belfast. Derrick Bernosky hit a two-run double in the second inning and Josh Beal had a two-run single in the first. Matt Steinort singled twice. Eric Ogren singled twice for Maranacook.

Shead 10, East Grand 0 (5 inns.)

At Eastport, Timmy Barnes pitched four innings of no-hit ball with nine strikeouts and helped his cause with two singles to propel the Tigers. Justin Lewey poked three singles with three RBIs and worked a scoreless inning for Shead, while Tommy Pottle hit an RBI single and a sacrifice fly and Tommy Collins poked a two-run single. Losing pitcher Abe Brittian broke up the combined no-hit bit with a leadoff single in the fifth inning for East Grand of Danforth.

Bucksport 11, Mattanawcook 4

At Bucksport, Tyler French hit two home runs, a single and knocked in four runs as Bucksport defeated Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln. Steve Klenowski and Tim Nason each doubled and singled for Bucksport. Ray Wood and Kyle McGeechan both singled twice. Shawn Cahill hit a two-run home run in the third inning for the Lynx. Lance Bernier followed with a solo homer. Tyler Tash had two singles and a double.

Central 5, MDI 4

At Corinth, Josh Collins hit a one-out, two-run single in the seventh inning to give Central the win over Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor. Brett Speed hit a two-run double in the sixth for Central. Jake Speed hit two singles and Brett White added an RBI double.Taylor Stewart hit a double, single and drove in a run to pace the Trojans.

MCI 11, Mount View 8

At Pittsfield, George Howe hit two doubles for three RBIs in a seven-run fourth inning to lead the Maine Central Institute Huskies past Mount View of Thorndike. In the fourth, MCI had six hits and a walk to take advantage of a passed ball, two passed balls, and two errors. Casey Egerton had two singles, a double, and two RBIs for the Huskies. Ryan Crocker had two singles, a double and one RBI. Andy Shorey had two singles and two RBIs. Kyle Lemieux had a triple, one single and one RBI for the Mustangs. Zach Babin had two singles and an RBI and Tyler Rednour hit a solo home run. Mount View turned a 4-3-6 triple play in the sixth inning.

Penquis 8, Penobscot Valley 4

At Howland, Jesse McLaughlin tripled, singled, scored two runs and knocked in two runs as Penquis of Milo beat Penobscot Valley. Chad Badger had nine strikeouts for the Patriots. Dylan Worster hit an RBI single in the first inning to lead the Howlers. Jake Jones singled and scored.

Hampden 10, Nokomis 0

At Hampden, Shaun Smith and Jacob Moore combined for a two-hitter while striking out nine batters and walking one to help lead Hampden Academy past Nokomis of Newport. Nolan Turner hit a double and a single for the Hampden Broncos. Caleb Kirk singled twice. Derek Amoroso singled twice to pace the Warriors.

Softball

Penquis 5, Penobscot Valley 3

At Howland, four errors led to three unearned runs in the seventh inning as Penquis of Milo defeated Penobscot Valley. Erica Lyford had a double, two singles and an RBI for the Patriots. Holly Smith doubled and singled. Casey McCloskey recorded 15 strikeouts to lead the Howlers. Molly Woodward hit an RBI double.

Fort Fairfield 24, Washburn 22

At Washburn, Amanda Hotham hit a grand slam to highlight an eight-run seventh inning as Fort Fairfield beat Washburn. Courtney Churchill had four singles, a home run and scored five runs for Fort Fairfield. Kelly Lynch added three singles and four runs scored. Rebecca Campbell hit four singles and drove in four runs to lead Washburn. Dakota Koch had four singles and three runs scored.

George Stevens 6, WA Raiders 1

At Blue Hill, Lydia Clapp pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and just three walks as the Eagles earned their sixth victory. Lexi Wessel had a double and two RBIs for George Stevens Academy, while Mindy Carter doubled and Stephi Davis had an RBI single to spark a four-run rally by the Eagles in the third inning. Kirsten Taylor singled twice for Washington Academy of East Machias.

Shead 15, East Grand 3

At Eastport, Cassie Barnes doubled, singled three times and drove in six runs to lead Shead to victory. Robyn Stuart chipped in with three singles and four RBIs while Arika Mitchell earned the win after walking only one and giving up two hits in four innings. Kaitlyn Beaudoin singled twice for East Grand of Danforth.

Medomak Valley 1, Winslow 0

At Waldoboro, Kayla Vannah allowed three hits, two walks and struck out nine to lead Medomak Valley to the shutout win over Winslow. Tessa Dodge walked and scored on a passed ball in the sixth inning for the Panthers. Rachel Lee and Kayla Santheson tripled. Rachel Keefe hit two singles. Julie Riovan, Kristen Loubier and Rachel Hall singled for Winslow.

MA Lynx 3, Bucksport 2

At Bucksport, Tayla Trask pitched a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts as unbeaten Mattanawcook Academy defeated the Golden Bucks for the second time this season. Sierra Pierce had a single and a sacrifice fly for the Lynx, while Brooke Hanscom and Jessica Fortin also singled. Shelby Redman had an RBI single for Bucksport, which committed five errors that led to two unearned runs. Emily Lenor and Sarah Sutherland also singled for the Golden Bucks in support of pitcher Abby Yeo, who allowed three hits while striking out 10 batters.

Madawaska 28, Van Buren 6

At Madawaska, the Owls used a 14-run first inning to subdue the Crusaders. Erin Dugal sparked the Madawaska offense with a home run, a double and three singles good for eight RBIs. Stephanie Nadeau posted five singles and four RBIs, while Kristy Morneault hit a triple, a double and two singles with two RBIs. Kallie Pelletier pitched a four-hitter and plated three runs with a triple and two singles. Angel Richard tripled for Van Buren, while Shawna Lapointe and Brittany Gagnon each stroked a run-scoring single.

Georges Valley 14, Livermore 0

At Livermore Falls, Danielle Frye pitched a two-hit shutout to lead Georges Valley of Thomaston past Livermore Falls. Frye, who pitched her fifth shutout in as many appearances (5-0), walked three and struck out 12. Jessie Veilleux hit a home run, two doubles and drove in four runs for Georges Valley. Jill Bradbury added a triple and two singles. Danielle Leavitt had two singles and three RBIs and Erin Judkins singled twice. Kathlynn Lake and Jayde Purington doubled for Livermore Falls.

Dexter 13, Bangor Chr. 1

At Dexter, Taylor Grass drove in three runs with a double while Macie Gustin hit a two-run homer as Dexter triumphed in six innings. Kirstie Mower singled twice and tripled to knock in three runs while Lisa Conway had two singles (RBI) for the Tigers. Katherine Bragg singled twice for Bangor Christian.

Hodgdon 17, Cen. Aroostook 12

At Mars Hill, Taylor Hovey hit three doubles and knocked in three runs as Hodgdon beat Central Aroostook. Sam Lycette and Haley Quinn each had two singles and an RBI for the Hawks. Vicki McIntyre led the Panthers with a triple, single and two RBIs. Brianna Hartin had a single with two RBIs and Kristen Long singled twice.

Skowhegan 4, Brewer 1

At Skowhegan, Becca McCarty allowed just one run on two hits and four walks while striking out 11 to lead Skowhegan past Brewer. Whitney Jones tripled and singled with an RBI for the Indians. McCarty doubled and singled with two RBIs and Sam Gray singled twice. Amanda Ryan, who singled twice, had both hits and drove in the only run for Brewer.

Sumner 12, Searsport 3

At Searsport, Keira Eschete doubled in a pair of runs while Katelyn Hodgkins had a pair of RBI doubles to lead Sumner of East Sullivan to the win. Lona Sargent doubled, singled twice and scored four times for the Tigers. Paige Bradshaw, Marisa Shaw and Shannon Higgins each had two singles for Searsport.

Central 10, MDI 6

At Corinth, Roberta Trafton singled three times to knock in a run as Central triumphed. Amber Conroy tripled in a run while Brianna Speed had three singles for the Red Devils. Elizabeth Sargent doubled and tripled with three RBIs for MDI.

MCI 8, Mount View 7

At Pittsfield, Maine Central Institute scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to come from behind and win over Mount View of Thorndike. Kylee Alton hit an RBI single to tie it at 7-7 and Tiffany McLaggan hit a liner to the right side to give MCI the win. Brianna Moody hit a two-out RBI double to give Mount View the lead in the top of the seventh. Cassandra St. Clair doubled, singled and scored two runs.

Nokomis 15, Hampden 7

At Hampden, Autumn Silk hit a single and a three-run home run as Nokomis of Newport defeated Hampden Academy.Sammy Moore had two doubles, a single and two RBIs for the Warriors. Marissa Shaw hit two doubles and Erin Knight doubled and singled.Sarah Lamberton paced Hampden with two singles and a double. Jill Carlisle and Katherine Danforth each doubled and singled. Olivia Plaisted hit two singles.

Eastern Connecticut 14, Southern Maine 6

GORHAM — Jim Schult homered, singled and knocked in five runs as Eastern Connecticut State University defeated University of Southern Maine of Gorham 14-6 in the second day of the Little East Conference Tournament baseball playoffs Friday. ECSU beat Keene State 7-3 earlier in the day while Keene State eliminated UMass Boston 9-6. Southern Maine will play Keene State (24-15) on Saturday at 11 a.m. ECSU will play the winner of that game at 2 p.m. Shawn Gilblair had a home run, two singles, four RBIs and picked up the win on the mound for ECSU. Robert Perry added a home run, two singles and three RBIs. Josh Mackey homered, doubled and singled with two RBIs to lead the Huskies. Ryan Pike added a home run, single and two RBIs.

Softball

Endicott 11, Husson 6

At Beverly, Mass., Ashley Wright hit two doubles, two singles and scored two runs as Endicott College erased a 5-0 deficit to eliminate Husson University of Bangor from the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. Jenna Lazar hit two singles and knocked in three runs for Endicott. Meghan Sargent added two doubles and a single. Cassie Berry homered twice and singled with two RBIs and two runs scored to pace Husson. Megan Bradstreet drove in two runs and Megan Richard singled twice.
