GREENVILLE, Maine — A burglar apparently was hungry during a break-in at a home on Lakeview Street over the weekend.

Greenville Police Chief Scott MacMaster said in addition to some loose coins and bills from a change jar inside the home, the burglar helped himself or herself to some ham and cheese and frozen peanut butter cups.

Based on what was stolen, MacMaster believes the burglar was a teenager or a transient who was passing through town.

Entry into the home was forced through a side door, MacMaster said. The break-in reportedly occurred between Friday night and Sunday night when the homeowners were away, he said.

Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity on Lakeview Street over the weekend is encouraged to contact Greenville police at 695-3835.
