Georges Valley 5, Carrabec 1

At North Anson, lefthander Alec Young fired a three-hitter, striking out 10 and walking one, and Bryant Matthews and Matt Shields had run-scoring singles as Georges Valley of Thomaston triumphed. Dylan Maloney had two singles for the winners while Nick Manzer tripled and singled for Carrabec of North Anson.

Washington Acad. 6, Searsport 3

At East Machias, Alex Currier’s two-run double in the fifth inning provided some insurance as the Raiders beat the Vikings. Mike Lenfestey and Bryce Colbeth combined on a six-hitter, with Colbeth slamming a two-run home run and Lenfestey a double for Washington Academy. Losing pitcher Evan Kingsley and Matt Bagley posted two singles each for the Vikings.

Narraguagus 8, Machias 2

At Machias, Colby Tucker stroked a double and two singles with an RBI to lead the Knights of Harrington to victory. Josh Beal (RBI) and Ryan Hatt each singled twice behind Jeremy Look, who spaced seven hits and struck out eight. Matt Little had two singles and an RBI for Machias, while Jacob Stevens singled and posted an RBI.

DI-Stonington 10, Sumner 2

At East Sullivan, Eben Powers doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead Deer Isle-Stonington by the Tigers. Joe Condon chipped in with a triple, single and an RBI for the winners, Evan Rollins had two singles and an RBI and Jay Joyce had an RBI single. Matt Boyle doubled twice, singled and had an RBI for Sumner and Mike Crowley doubled and singled.

Calais 14, Jonesport-Beals 6

At Jonesport, Josh Gillespie doubled, singled and drove in two runs to help Calais prevail. Jordan Leeman chipped in with a double, single and RBI for the winners. Matt Alley singled twice for Jonesport-Beals and Zach Fenton and Sid Look each had two singles and two RBIs. Andrew Beal added an RBI single.

Winslow 21, MCI 7

At Pittsfield, Joey McLean hit a triple, three singles and drove in four runs to lead Winslow past Maine Central Institute.Steven Siviski added a triple, two doubles, a single and three RBIs for the Black Raiders. Jordan Bailey doubled and singled with three RBIs.Nick Miller paced the Huskies with three singles and an RBI. Nick Cook and Andy Shorey added RBI doubles.

Waterville 12, Mount View 3

At Thorndike, winning pitcher Kyle Bishop and Josh Gaudette each belted two-run homers and Tim Locke had a double and two singles as Waterville remained unbeaten. Bishop, who tossed five innings of three-hit, one-run ball, had a single to go with his homer and Curt Chart doubled and singled. Kiel Lemieux doubled for Mount View and Cody Raven had two singles.

Penobscot Valley 6, Lee 5

At Howland, Derrick Bellevance’s sacrifice fly capped a two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh that gave Penobscot Valley its win over Lee Academy. Jake Jones and Dylan Worster singled to ignite the rally and two walks forced in the tying run before Bellevance delivered his sacrifice fly. Bellevance also had a two-run single while Nevin Jipson tripled and singled and Kyle Dickey doubled and singled with an RBI. Ryan Beers knocked in four runs for Lee Academy with a double and two singles.

Bangor Christian 8, Piscataquis 2

At Bangor, Jared Theriault had a double, two singles and two RBIs to lead Bangor Christian to victory over Piscataquis of Guilford. Theriault, Chris Potter and Jon Johnson combined to record 16 strikeouts for the Patriots. Potter hit a single and an RBI double while Johnson singled twice. Yaal Kand had two singles and an RBI for the Pirates. James Watson added an RBI single.

Dexter 12, Schenck 10

At East Millinocket, Billy Trivette and Matt Gelzinis each rapped RBI doubles to lead the Tigers to victory. Vinny Malinauskas singled and drove in three runs behind winning pitcher C.J. Giles for Dexter, which was aided by 15 Schenck errors. Jon Sirois led the Wolverines with a double, two singles and four RBIs. Ben Leclair doubled and singled and Ryan Thompson contributed an RBI single.

Stearns 11, Penquis 3

At Milo, Cory Barnett hit a single and a three-run home run as Stearns of Millinocket beat Penquis. Kurt Hamilton added a homer and a single for the Minutemen. Brad Brown had a single and a two-run double to lead Penquis.

Hodgdon 26, East Grand 20

At Danforth Monday, Ryan Wellington drove in six runs with a triple and two singles as Hodgdon outlasted East Grand in a slugfest that featured 34 hits between the two teams. Jake Tidd had four singles in Hodgdon’s 21-hit attack, Travis Quint had a triple and two singles and Levi Tidd had three singles and two RBIs. David Cropley had a double and two singles and knocked in five runs for East Grand. Abe Britton and Andrew Gilman also had a double and two singles with Britton driving inthree runs.

Houlton 6, Fort Kent 4

At Houlton, Jordan Brown’s two-run single keyed a three-run fifth inning that built the lead to 6-1 and enabled Houlton to withstand a three-run Fort Kent rally in the seventh. Porter Gervais had a triple and two singles for the Shires and Corey Woodworth doubled and singled and had an RBI. Ian Gervais pitched seven innings of three-hit, one run (unearned) ball for the win. Thomas Levesque had two singles and four stolen bases for Fort Kent.

So. Aroostook 12, Limestone 4

At Dyer Brook, Steven Grant capped off a nine-run, sixth-inning rally with a two-run home run as the Warriors pulled away to victory. Ben Boutilier also homered and singled for Southern Aroostook, while Dillon Boulier hit three singles, Pat Goodall and Mike Casey each doubled and singled with an RBI, and Gary Sutherland singled twice. Ty Tracy hit a double, single and sacrifice fly with two RBIs for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics, while Chris Parent tripled with an RBI.

Madawaska 9, Fort Fairfield 3

At Fort Fairfield, Michael Cannan stroked a three-run double to highlight a six-run third inning that carried the Owls to victory. Curtis Thibodeau doubled and singled with an RBI to back Jonathan Lee, who scattered five hits while going the route. Josh Churchill and Grant Lundquist hit two singles each for Fort Fairfield

SOFTBALL

Washington Acad. 7, Searsport 4

At East Machias, Andi Flannery knocked in three runs with a double and two singles to propel the Raiders to victory. Flannery had a run-scoring double in Washington Academy’s three-run fifth inning. Bre Nicely singled three times and scored three runs and Kaitlyn Look hit two singles to back winning pitcher Christina Ramsdell, who struck out seven. Katherine Cotter paced Searsport with two singles, while Marissa Higgins and Sarah Bradshaw each singled and scored a run.

Medomak Valley 8, Gardiner 0

At Waldoboro, Kayla Santheson pitched a three-hitter and posted a triple and a single with three RBIs to spark the Panthers to victory. Santheson struck out 10 and walked three. Tessa Dodge poked a triple, double and single for Medomak Valley and Jessica Koon singled three times. Vanessa Davis added two singles and Rachel Lee doubled. Losing pitcher Hanna Lawrence singled twice for Gardiner.

Sumner 8, DI-Stonington 2

At East Sullivan, Lona Sargent doubled and singled with two RBIs and struck out 12 as Sumner defeated Deer Isle-Stonington. Ashley Pennartz tripled, singled and knocked in two runs for the Tigers. Sarah Leighton added two singles and an RBI. Janelle Ciomei hit three singles, including a two-run single in the seventh for the Mariners.

Narraguagus 17, Machias 4

At Machias, Sam Baker singled three times to knock in four runs as Narraguagus of Harrington won in five innings. Kayla Collora had three singles (three RBIs) and Andrea Perry two singles and a double for the Knights. Erica Reynolds had two singles plus an RBI and Courtney Dahl two singles for Machias.

Calais 16, Jonesport-Beals 0

At Jonesport, Tessa Clark pitched a three-hitter in five innings and Nicole Osborne singled and doubled to lead unbeaten Calais to its third win. Shannon Brown and Honor Wilkinson each chipped in with RBI singles for Calais. Hannah Carver, BreAnna Beal and Sara Smith each singled for Jonesport-Beals.

Georges Valley 12, Carrabec 0

At Carrabec, junior Danielle Frye pitched a one-hit shutout to lift Georges Valley of Thomaston over Carrabec. Frye struck out 16 and walked two for the Buccaneers. She also had two singles and an RBI. Bethany Snow doubled. Miranda Knight singled in the first inning for Carrabec.

Winslow 11, MCI 2

At Pittsfield, Katie Loubier hit a triple and Katie Bernard struck out nine as Winslow defeated Maine Central Institute. Julie Riordan doubled for the Black Raiders. Brooke Libby hit a triple for MCI. Lydia Fortin and Picabo Morrell doubled.

Skowhegan 8, Hampden 0

At Hampden, Sam Gray hit an RBI single in the second and a two-run home run in the sixth as Skowhegan shut out Hampden Academy. Becca McCarthy and Amanda Johnson combined to pitch a two-hit shutout for the Indians. They allowed no walks and struck out seven. Megan Hancock had three singles and Amanda Johnson and Whitney Jones each hit RBI singles. Sarah Flagg and Ashley Danforth singled for the Broncos.

Dexter 8, Schenck 3

At East Millinocket, Olivia Gardner fired a four-hitter and provided an RBI double and three singles to power the Tigers to victory. Sam Conway and Sarah Atwater hit run-scoring singles for Dexter. Ashley Deloge and Ashley Grant smacked RBI doubles for Schenck.

Mattanawcook 1, John Bapst 0

At the Union Street Complex in Bangor, Mattanawcook Academy’s Tayla Trask pitched a perfect game while John Bapst’s Laura Jordan recorded a no-hitter, and Mattanawcook went on to earn the win when Taylor Hawkins scored in the top of the seventh. Trask and Jordan, both righthanders, turned in outstanding performances as Trask struck out 13 and didn’t walk a batter while Jordan struck out 10 and walked only one. Trask drew the walk with one out in the seventh and Hawkins came in as a courtesy runner. She stole second base, but Jordan struck out the next batter before Bapst committed consecutive infield errors to allow Hawkins to score.

Stearns 12, Penquis 6

At Milo, Paige Curtis’ two-run triple and Becca Leavitt’s run-scoring single keyed an eight-run sixth inning that gave Stearns of Millinocket a 12-2 lead. Leavitt and Katie Mills had two singles apiece and Leavitt had an RBI. Erica Lyford had a two-run homer for Penquis and Kristin McKenzie doubled.

Penobscot Valley 17, Lee 5

At Howland, Casey McCloskey ripped a double and three singles with four RBIs and four runs scored to power the Howlers to victory. Kristina Hallett had a single and two RBIs for Penobscot Valley. Felicia Thornton hit an RBI double and Alaina Hamilton doubled for Lee Academy.

Piscataquis 14, Bangor Chr. 7

At Bangor, the Pirates scored five times in the seventh inning to break the game open. Samara Hooper paced Piscataquis of Guilford with four singles and two RBIs, while Julia Shaffer plated two runs with a double and a single. Kelly Robinson led Bangor Christian with three singles and an RBI. Moriah Bach added two singles and an RBI.

Mattanawcook 5, Foxcroft 1

At Dover-Foxcroft Saturday, Tayla Trask pitched a complete game allowing one run on two hits with 15 strikeouts to lead Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln by Foxcroft Academy. Rianne Gardner had a triple, a single and an RBI while Katie-Rae Smith added a double for the Lynx. Courtney Withee and Jasmine Fletcher each singled for Foxcroft.

LCS/MSSM 16, So. Aroostook 8

At Dyer Brook, Amanda Allen’s two-run double and Jasmine Cote’s two-run single highlighted a nine-run sixth inning that broke the game open. Audra Kirk and Ashlynn Kelly drove in four runs each for the winners. Kirk had three singles and Kelly doubled. Kellie Peers tripled and singled and drove in a run. Elizabeth Goodall had a three-run homer and a double for Southern Aroostook and Janel Rockwell had a two-run homer and a single. Shelby Hartin and Brittany Charette had two singles each and Hartin had an RBI.

Madawaska 20, Fort Fairfield 6

At Fort Fairfield, Nicole Cyr hit a home run and four singles with five RBIs as Madawaska opened its season with a victory. Kaylie Cyr homered and singled with four RBIs for the Owls, while Ashley Beaulieu had four singles and three RBIs. Courtney Churchill led Fort Fairfield with a home run and three RBIs, while Kelly Lynch singled twice and Danielle Tracy singled twice with an RBI.

Wisdom 25, Van Buren 21

At St. Agatha, Deliya Michaud hit two triples, a double and two singles as Wisdom out slugged Van Buren. Suzie Collin had two doubles and a single for the Pioneers. Sarah Paradis added three singles. Shawna Lapointe had two singles and a double to pace the Crusaders. Amanda Labreck tripled.

Houlton 20, Fort Kent 0

At Houlton, Erica Lackey knocked in four runs with a double and a single as the Shiretowners cruised. Mary Morse and Liz Morneault hit singles for Fort Kent.
