LUBEC and MEDDYBEMPS – Margaret “MyAnn” Hanson passed away peacefully May 2, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Princeton, to George McLaughlin and Phyllis Dow. MyAnn loved being on Meddybemps Lake; fishing, swimming and listening to music, and loved walking on the South Lubec beach collecting beach glass. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 40 years, Nin L. Hanson. MyAnn is survived by a sister, Jane Gager of Murphys, Calif.; a brother, David Brown of Arkansas; a son, Richard Olivares of Pompano Beach, Fla.; daughters, Kelly and William Hartford of Bangor, Terry and Charles Rier of Lubec, and Erin and Mark St. Peter of China; grandchildren, Aaron Olivares of Bangor, Joshua Rier of Bangor, Tanner Hartford of Bangor, Jacob Olivares of Waterville and Tuesdae Olivares of Waterville; and great-grandchildren, Brendan Olivares of Bradley, Julius Thibodeau of Waterville, Ava Hartford of Bangor and Carter Olivares of Waterville. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Meddybemps Cemetery. A gathering will be immediately after at Meddybemps Community Center. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
