ELLSWORTH – Anthony J. “Tony” Colaluca, 89, died May 2, 2009, at his daughter’s residence in Ellsworth. He was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Brookline, Mass., the son of Oratzio and Rose (Riccio) Colaluca. Tony served in the U.S. Army 29th Infantry during World War II and participated in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Award, European Theater Award and Bronze Star. He married Theresa Giannoti, June 17, 1950, and resided in Belmont, Mass., where Tony owned and operated Anthony’s House of Beauty hairstyling salon. After retirement in 1995, they moved to St. Augustine Beach, Fla., and resided until 2004 when they came to live at Birch Bay Village, Bar Harbor. In October 2008, they moved to Ellsworth to live with their daughter and son-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Theresa; daughter, Judie Tardiff and husband, Randy; granddaughter, Heather Noonan, all of Ellsworth; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Larry Cole and Gerard Cole; and sisters, Theresa Looney and Connie Butler. Calling hours will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Holy Redeemer Church with Father O’Hara, celebrant.
