WINTERPORT – Joseph Charles Alexander, 79, husband of Lucille (Fuller) Alexander, passed away peacefully April 30, 2009, while at a Bangor health care facility. He was born July 10, 1929, in Bangor, the son of William Joseph and Inez E. (Plummer) Alexander. Joseph grew up in Bangor and was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1947. He worked as an operations manager for Nabisco for 42 years and had made his home in Winterport since 1970. Joseph enjoyed needlepoint, arts and crafts, going to Bar Harbor, mowing his lawn, scootering and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lucille of Winterport; his children, Richard F. Alexander of Bangor, Donald J. Alexander and his wife, Kathleen, of Racine, Wis., Diana L. Webster and husband, Warner, of Shakopee, Minn., Joseph C. Alexander Jr. of Winterport and Sharon L. Alexander of Natick, Mass.; a sister, Janice (Alexander) Noyes of Carmel; grandchildren, Joseph C. Alexander III, George E. Webster, Robert G. Alexander and Carol A. Alexander; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Dick Woehr officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joseph C. Alexander Memorial Cancer Fund, care of Healthcare Charities, P.O.
