At Farmington, Reynaldo Nunez drove in three runs with a two-run homer and a single and Richie Welch had a two-run single as Fisher College (Mass.) edged the University of Maine-Farmington to complete a sweep of their Monday doubleheader. Zach Thompson tossed a four-hit shutout in the opener, striking out six, walking four and hitting two batters. In the nightcap, JJ Navas had a triple and two singles for the winners and scored a pair of runs. Pat Howell and Brian Jenkins had two singles each for UMF, and Jenkins had an RBI. In the first game, Eddy Delcarmen had a two-run single in the first inning and Thomas Engelhardt knocked in a third-inning run. Both had two singles. Steve Hutchinson, Tyler Hanson, Josh Garneau and Jack Macvane singled for UMF.

SOFTBALL

UMF sweeps Fisher

At Farmington, the Beavers erupted for 18 runs on 20 hits as they took a doubleheader from Fisher College, winning the opener 10-4 and nightcap 8-0. In game one, Mckell Barnes hit a two-run homer and Jess Timreck a two-run single to spark a seven-run first inning uprising. Timmreck struck out seven while walking two in picking up the win. Jackie Streeter singled three times for Fisher. In game two, Liz Bergeron tossed a five-inning one-hitter with nine strikeouts to earn the victory. Timmreck, Emily Coye and Erin Porter each singled twice and drove in a run for UMaine-Farmington. Michelle Oliverio’s double was Fisher’s only hit.

MEN’S LACROSSE

Emerson 10, Thomas 5

At Waterville, Joe Greaney scored five goals to lead Emerson College past UMaine-Farmington. Jake Frank tallied three goals while Roger Tower added two more for 7-5 Emerson. Patrick Curran came up with 15 saves on 39 shots. Justin Lawler and Jeremy Parmley scored two goals apiece while T.J. Collins added another for 3-6 Thomas. Josh Colello stopped 15 of 37 shots.

ROCKLAND -— Drew Long, 12, of Camden recorded his first hole-in-one Sunday at Rockl-and Golf Club. He made the ace on the 131-yard, par-3 fifth hole using a 5-iron. It was witnessed by Daulton Wickendon, Cameron Libby and Reilly Flanagan.
