BANGOR, Maine — The Police Department is reminding drivers that the annual Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race takes place Saturday and will cause some minor traffic delays as well as a detour at Six Mile Falls Bridge on Broadway (Route 15).

Inbound traffic on Broadway will be diverted at Six Mile Falls onto Finson Road to Ohio Street between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

To avoid delays because of congestion on the bridge, drivers are encouraged to use McCarty Road in Glenburn to gain access to Ohio Street. Signs will be posted to assist motorists.

• Traffic on Six Mile Falls Bridge will be reduced to one lane for outbound traffic. The bridge will experience heavy pedestrian use during this period, causing traffic to move slowly. This may produce some minor traffic delays. Drivers are asked to use caution when approaching this area Saturday.

• Traffic on Valley Avenue will be one way to Bruce Road. Signs will be posted to assist drivers. Limited parking is available along Valley Avenue.

• Bruce Road will be closed to traffic from Kenduskeag Avenue (except to Bruce Road residents).
