How much information is too much? Not enough?

A bill that will soon be considered by lawmakers would remove employee names from lists of state government jobs and their salaries that is posted on a Maine Heritage Policy Center web site. Is this appropriate? Is withholding public information from the public the right approach? What about concerns about the privacy of state government employees? Do they have rights to keep their pay secret?
