BURNHAM – Galen L. Bane, 60, died April 3, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1948, in Hartland, a son of Linwood and Winifred (Ham) Bane. He was a longtime self-employed logger and also drove truck for Maine Fence Co. for nearly 30 years. He will be remembered as an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. In addition to his mother of Burnham, he is survived by three sons, Ellery and Tammy of Burnham, Clint of Pittsfield, and Robert and Holly, also of Pittsfield; two brothers, Rodney and Eloise of Pittsfield and Brian and Sharon of Canaan; one sister, Joyce and Burley Holt of Burnham; and three grandchildren, Ryanne Bane, Bianca and Amanda Asaro. He was predeceased by his wife, Colleen; and a son, Ryan. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Pastor Albert Thibault officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sidelinger Family Cemetery, Burnham.
