BUCKSPORT, Maine — Police, fire and school personnel are investigating a bomb threat discovered Monday at Bucksport Middle School.

The threat, which was scrawled on a wall in the school, was reported at 1:51 p.m., according to a Bucksport emergency dispatcher. A search of the building by Bucksport police and fire personnel turned up no evidence of a bomb.

School Superintendent James Boothby said Monday night that students at the school, located at 100 Miles Lane, were not evacuated from the building.

“The level of threat did not warrant an evacuation,” Boothby said, adding that the message was discovered close to the end of the school day.
