BUCKSPORT, Maine — Police, fire and school personnel are investigating a bomb threat discovered Monday at Bucksport Middle School.

The threat, which was scrawled on a wall in the school, was reported at 1:51 p.m., according to a Bucksport emergency dispatcher. A search of the building by Bucksport police and fire personnel turned up no evidence of a bomb.

School Superintendent James Boothby said Monday night that students at the school, located at 100 Miles Lane, were not evacuated from the building.

β€œThe level of threat did not warrant an evacuation,” Boothby said, adding that the message was discovered close to the end of the school day.
