At Bronx, N.Y., Andrew Rosario hit two doubles and a triple with two RBIs to lead Lehman College (3-7) by the University of Maine-Presque Isle. D.J. Charette hit two singles, scored and drove in a run for UMPI (4-10).

SOFTBALL

Southern Maine loses three

At Clermont, Fla., the University of Southern Maine dropped three games on Wednesday, falling to Lawrence University 9-3, Elmhurst College 6-0 and Mount Mercy College 10-2 in five innings. In the first game, Carli Gurholt hit a three-run home run to spark Lawrence (1-4). Cerise Humphrey posted three hits and an RBI while Laura Leger had two hits and an RBI for the Huskies. In the second game, Vanessa Kalal pitched a complete game giving up two hits and one walk to earn the shutout for Elmhurst (9-2). In the third game, Elizabeth Hill had three hits and drove in four runs to lead Mount Mercy (5-4). Jess Hayden drove in a run for Southern Maine (1-11).

MEN’S LACROSSE

Maine Maritime 26, Thomas 1

At Castine, Andrew DiSalvo scored eight goals and posted six assists to power Maine Maritime Academy by Thomas College. Garrett Lake scored seven goals and tallied four assists. Chris Keiley scored four goals and had two assists while Brian Corain notched two goals and four assists. Daniel Redmond made 17 saves for the 2-0 Mariners. Kolby Peckham scored the lone goal for Thomas. Josh Colello and Derek Racine combined to make 17 saves.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

So. Maine 21, UM-Farmington 0

At Portland, Caitlin Albert and Jessica Knight each scored four goals to spark the University of Southern Maine by the University of Maine-Farmington. Kelsey Rodrigue netted three goals while Mary Vaughan added two goals and an assist. Rachel Lolley made four saves to earn the shutout for the 2-1 Huskies. Andrea Knox stopped seven shots in UM-Farmington’s program debut.

Saint Joseph’s 18, Thomas 0

At Portland, Saint Joseph’s netted 14 goals in the first half en route to the shutout over Thomas College. Alyssa Marchant and Vanessa Brooks scored four goals apiece. Lauren Hagerman tallied two goals and two assists while Amelia Santos chipped in with two goals and an assist. Taylor Allison stopped eight shots for the 2-0 Monks. Ashley French made four saves for 0-2 Thomas.
