Portland, Maine, police investigate home invasion

PORTLAND, Maine — Police are investigating a home invasion robbery at a Portland apartment in which the female occupant was tied up and assaulted.

The attack occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday on Alder Street.

Police said it appears that two men knocked on the door, forced their way in, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects are described as Asian males. One, in his 20s, was of slight build and about 5-foot-3. The other is described as early to mid 30s, slight build and about 5-foot-6, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

The name of the victim was not released.
