Officials: Woman fatally shot by Biddeford police

BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Maine attorney general’s office is investigating a fatal police shooting in Biddeford.< Chief investigator Brian MacMaster says a 47-year-old woman was shot to death around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after she refused officers' order to drop a semiautomatic weapon.< MacMaster says Sgt. Jeffrey Green, who fired three times, was one of three officers who responded to a 911 call from a suicidal woman. Officers found the woman on a sidewalk, where the confrontation took place. Her name has not been released.< MacMaster said Police Chief Roger Beaupre told him the shooting was the city's first fatal officer-related shooting in at least 38 years.
