Brown sparks Husson men past Lyndon State

BANGOR, Maine — Nick Brown scored six goals and posted four assists Sunday as Husson University beat Lyndon State 22-11 in men’s lacrosse action at Boucher Field.

Ben Landry had five goals and four assists for Husson (2-0), while Sam Smith had three goals and three assists.

Chris Mansour led Lyndon (Vt.) State with seven goals and an assist.

Matt Linnell made 13 saves on 39 shots for Husson, while Matt Adams made 15 saves on 47 shots for 1-1 Lyndon State.

MMA 20, Green Mountain 2

At Castine, Christopher Keiley scored six goals and handed out four assists as Maine Maritime Academy powered past Green Mountain College on Saturday.

Andrew DiSalvo scored three goals and posted seven assists while Garrett Lake and Todd Murphy added three goals apiece for the 1-0 Mariners. Daniel Redmond made eight saves to earn his first collegiate win.

Steve Braunius made 14 saves on 50 shots for 0-1 Green Mountain.

Women’s lacrosse

Becker 20, Husson 15

At Bangor on Sunday, Tammy Mullen scored nine goals as Becker College broke a 9-9 halftime tie with 11 second-half goals.

Nicole Lijana added five goals for 3-2 Becker.

Shelby Bradford had six goals and an assist for Husson, while Jami Ladd scored three goals and Ashley Cyr and Tracy Cyr each had two goals. Rebecca Hatin and Caitlyn Butterfield scored one goal each.

Nikki Burns made 17 saves for 0-2 Husson, while Alena Phongsa made 20 saves for Becker.
