KITTERY, Maine — Officials are investigating a fire at a Navy housing complex in Kittery that left several families homeless.

Kittery Fire Chief David O’Brien said fire was reported at about 7:20 p.m. Saturday at the Admiralty Village complex, a housing unit for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

It took more than two hours to bring the fire under control, but not before the complex suffered significant damages. There were no reports of injuries.

The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate, and Red Cross officials were helping families relocate.
