When will the recession end?

Some economists are predicting the recession will end late this year, with job growth

beginning in early 2010. Is this just “happy talk,” designed to change public perception

(thereby helping the economy)? Or will economic indicators such as gross domestic

product actually begin to move in a positive direction by the end of the year? Or will this

be a “double dip” recession, sliding again into negative growth in 2010?
