Orono standout keys win

ORONO, Maine — Joel Riemersma of Orono scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half to lead the Away Team to a 95-92 victory over the Home Team in the Penobscot Valley Conference Senior Boys All-Star Game.

The Home Team won the girls game 89-74.

In the boys game, Schenck of Millinocket’s Aaron Hutchins and Washington Academy of Each Machias’ Matt Smith had 12 points apiece for the Away Team. James Bates of Houlton scored 11 points while Stearns of Millinocket’s Zach Sadlon and Bangor Christian’s Brett Bradford had 10 points each.

Eber Powers of Deer Isle-Stonington led the Home Team with 16 points. Charlie Osborne of Stearns scored 14 points and Andrew Lary of Dexter had 11 points. Schenck of East Millinocket’s Josh Brown and Corey Barnett of Stearns each scored 10 points.

In the girls game, Penobscot Valley of Howland’s Casey McCloskey scored 18 points to lead the Home Team.

Ashley Deloge from Schenck of East Millinocket scored 13 points for the Home Team. Orono’s Sarah Thibeault had 12 points and Samantha Lyons of Stearns of Millinocket added 10 points.

Penquis of Milo’s Erica Lyford paced the Away Team with 18 points. Kelly Robinson of Bangor Christian scored 15 points and Molly Legassie of Stearns chipped in 12 points.
