Police responding to a report of a fight on Garland Street late Sunday used a Taser to subdue one of the men before arresting them both, Sgt. Paul Edwards said on Monday.

Carl Dawes, 28, and Chad St. Pierre, 31, both of Bangor, were fighting when police arrived around 11:30 p.m. While police were separating the men, Dawes ignored warnings to cooperate and threatened an officer, requiring officers to subdue him with the Taser, Edwards said.

Dawes was arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to submit to arrest, and St. Pierre was arrested for disorderly conduct and for an outstanding warrant. Both were taken to Penobscot County Jail and later released, a jail official said.
