EAST MILLINOCKET, Maine — Two unidentified people were taken to Millinocket Regional Hospital late Friday after their GMC Sierra pickup truck rolled over on Route 11 just outside Millinocket.
East Millinocket ambulance crews, police and firefighters were working to extricate the two people who were trapped inside the vehicle for at least 20 minutes, police said. The extent of the victims’ injuries was not immediately available. The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. about a mile west of the East Millinocket public safety building. Firefighters were using the Jaws of Life to free the people from the vehicle. The road was closed to both lanes of traffic. Police said they didn’t know when it would reopen.
The area was experiencing heavy rains, high winds and slushy conditions at the time.
