Wildcats edge Black Hawks

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Brennen Shaw scored two goals, including the game-tying goal to send the Eastern Maine Class B hockey quarterfinal into overtime, and Mark Carvell scored the game-winner to give Presque Isle a 4-3 victory over Houlton-Hodgdon at the Northern Maine Forum.

Carvell scored unassisted off a hard shot from the slot in traffic 3:30 into overtime for the 9-7-3 Wildcats. Dylan Collins scored an unassisted goal, and Isaac Lajoie made two assists. Mitch Davis and Steve Ford had the other assists. Josh MacFarline made 25 saves on 28 shots.

Morgan Hall had a goal and an assist for the 7-11-1 Black Hawks. Logan Holmes and Sam Fitzpatrick each scored one goal. Elliot Mooers and Ben Ward each had an assist, while Malik Abouleish saved 25 of 29 shots.
