GREENVILLE, Maine — Wardens began a search for a New Hampshire snowmobiler Tuesday, but the man was accounted for later in the day.

Kevin O’Neal, 44, of Seabrook, N.H., last was seen between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday at Pittston Farm. O’Neal told friends he would be snowmobiling from Pittston Farm by way of Kokadjo to Millinocket to meet friends there, according to Deborah Turcotte, spokeswoman for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Turcotte said O’Neal was not reported missing until Tuesday.

O’Neal had left his vehicle and trailer at a friend’s house in Brownville and had said he would be back on Sunday.

Turcotte said about 10 game wardens checked snowmobile trails from Pittston Farm to Kokadjo, from Kokadjo to Millinocket and from Brownville to Pittston Farm. Many of the trails have not been broken open since the snowstorm Sunday and Monday, and the snow was 4 to 5 feet deep in some locations, she said.

Wardens were en route to Brownville to meet with the man late Tuesday afternoon.
