WELD, Maine — Two ice fishermen escaped injury when they got lost in a snowstorm and drove their pickup truck through thin ice on a lake in western Maine.

According to the Maine Warden Service, Craig Coulombe and Willfred Gagne of Farmington drove their ice-fishing shack on a trailer to the north end of Webb Lake in Weld at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

After dropping off the shack, they became disoriented and drove the length of the lake before reaching thin ice and open water. That’s where the truck went through and sank.

Neither fishermen was hurt, and a tow truck was called Thursday to get the truck and trailer out of the lake.
