Police investigate stabbing in Houlton

HOULTON, Maine — Members of the Houlton Police Department and the Maine State Police are conducting a joint investigation after a report of a stabbing early Tuesday morning.

According to Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin, the call came in at 6 a.m. Tuesday and involved two men at a residence on Maliseet Drive.

Asselin said one man was taken by ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital and subsequently taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The conditions and identities of the men involved were not released to the media.

No further details were available Tuesday afternoon.
