If you can’t be with the one you love, honey, love the one you’re with. In fact, you can love everyone you’re with, whether they’re your sweetie, your buddy or a total stranger, at this Saturday’s “Lover’s Leap” event, from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at several locations in downtown Bangor. From 4 to 6 p.m., River City Cinema will screen the classic 1959 comedy “Some Like It Hot” at the Bangor Opera House. Then, from 6 to 8 p.m., J.B. Parker’s Café and Catering will serve a Valentine’s Day din-ner at its Main Street dining room; for $24.95, a menu of appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts will be available. There’s also ice skating in Pickering Square. At 8 p.m., make your way back to the Opera House with your friends and lovers for a diverse line up of entertainment. The smooth jazz sounds of Noir, singer-songwriter Sarah Madelina and reggae rocker Joshua Mooers will provide the soundtrack, actors from the Penobscot Theatre will perform John Guare’s one-act play “The Loveliest Afternoon of the Year,” the magician and escape artist Dr. Wilson will astound with his feats of daring, and Caitlyn Cogan will show off her fashion designs on the runway. Plus, photographer Michael Weston will be on hand to take pictures of you and your date — romantic, platonic or otherwise. All that — for just $10. What’s not to love? For more details, call the Bangor Opera House at 942-3333.
