BELFAST, Maine — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Department has charged a Glenburn woman with stealing prescription drugs from the woman who hired her as a baby sitter.
Barbara Hustus, 32, of Pushaw Road in Glenburn was charged by Deputy James Greeley on Saturday. Chief Deputy Robert Keating said Hustus had been hired to baby-sit at a residence in Swanville the day before, and when the woman returned home she discovered her prescription drugs were missing.
Greeley checked with the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department and learned that Hustus had been arrested later that day on three outstanding warrants for unpaid fines.
Keating said Monday that although Hustus admitted selling drugs when interviewed at the jail, she denied stealing the woman’s prescription.
Additional charges are expected to be filed, Keating said.
