At East Sullivan, Dan Leighton scored 11 of his 16 points in the second quarter when the Tigers outscored the Knights 24-8 en route to the victory. Woody Huber paced Sumner with 24 points and 10 assists. Matt Boyle chipped in with 12 points, Ken Ingalls netted 11 and Chris Weaver added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Stephen Strout paced the Knights of Harrington with 21 points, including 16 in the second half. Blake Chase added 18 points.

Caribou 45, Old Town 40

At Old Town, Cameron Anderson scored 23 points as Caribou beat Old Town. Josh Boucher paced Old Town with 20 points and Bronson Merry added 10 points.

Machias 82, East Grand 56

At Danforth, Michael Jenkins scored 34 points to lift Machias over East Grand. Ty Richards had 15 points and 18 rebounds for Machias. Abe Brittain led East Grand with 15 points and 12 rebounds. David Cropley had 14 rebounds. Seth Cropley scored 12 points and Kaleb Dicker scored 11.

GHCA 60, Van Buren 46

At Van Buren, Zach Straubel and Chad Duff combined to score 16 of Greater Houlton Christian Academy’s 24 third-quarter points as the Eagles topped Van Buren. Staubel totaled 21 points for the Eagles while Duff scored 20 points. Derrick Rossignol led Van Buren with 26 points.

Foxcroft 49, Penquis 43

At Dover-Foxcroft, Jamie Nason scored 16 points and added seven assists and four steals to spark the Ponies to their 10th victory of the season. James Johnson registered 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots for Foxcroft Academy. Ryan Bailey scored a game-high 19 points for Penquis of Milo.

Presque Isle 53, MA 42

At Presque Isle, Ethan Braley had 14 points and nine rebounds to lead the Presque Isle Wildcats past Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln. Russ Mortland scored 14 for the Wildcats. Brady Vose scored 11 points and Wayne Campbell added 10 for the Lynx of Lincoln.

Ellsworth 74, MDI 60

At Ellsworth, Ellsworth outscored Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor 25-9 in the fourth quarter to earn the win. Brad Folmer scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth for the Eagles. Pat Kelley had 15 points, Ryan Petros had 14 points and Jordan Carter scored 11. Jasper Cousins led the Trojans with 30 points.

Hampden 57, Mt. Blue 46

At Farmington, Jacob Moore had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hampden Academy past Mt. Blue. Brad Dolan also scored 16 points for the Broncos. Noah Burditt chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds. Jamie Sawyer led the Cougars with 15 points.

Shead 67, Calvary Chapel 41

At Eastport, Wayne Clossey had 18 points to lift Shead over Calvary Chapel of Orrington. Dave Medeiros scored 12 points for the Tigers and Nick Vinson added 10 points. Zac Austin scored 15 points to pace the Sabers. Jared Madden had 13 points.

Lee 55, DI-Stonington 52

At Deer Isle, Lee Academy took the lead in the final seconds as Deer Isle-Stonington’s Eben Powers recorded his 1,000th career point. Dean MacDonald stole an inbound pass with 12 seconds remaining and Grant Sun scored a two-pointer and the resulting free throw with five seconds remaining in regulation to get the win. Senior Eben Powers needed only nine points to reach 1,000 and he got in the second quarter. Powers is the fourth player to reach 1,000 points, joining Collin Ciomei, Bryant Ciomei and Nick Wieberg. A.J. Doty led the Pandas with 17 points. A.J. Harris scored 13 points and Sun added 11 points. Eben Powers totaled 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Royals. Dustin Powers scored 13 points.

Bangor Christian 65, Schenck 61

At Johnston Gym, Bangor, Tyler Alexander blocked a possible tying shot, got the rebound, was fouled and made both free throws with 14 seconds remaining in overtime to hand Bangor Christian the win over Schenck of East Millinocket. Aaron Hutchins led the Wolverines with 20 points. Terry McCafferty had 14 points. Jared Waite scored 13 points and Brandon Theriault added 10 points. Brett Bradford scored 31 points to pace the Patriots. Jon Johnson added 12 points. Bradford is only three points away from 1,000 for his career.

Girls basketball

Presque Isle 59, MA Lynx 45

At Presque Isle, Sarah Porter scored 12 of her game-high 32 points in the first quarter to send the Wildcats on the way to victory. Porter hit four 3-pointers and sank 14 free throws for Presque Isle. Kayla Richards added eight points. Brooke Hanscom led Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln with 14 points. Caitlyn DeRaps netted nine.

Waterville 55, Mount View 32

At Waterville Friday, the undefeated Panthers went on a 21-12 scoring binge in the second half to pull away for the comfortable victory.

Morgan Frame scored a game-high 20 points for Waterville, which won its 60th consecutive game. Jen Nale added 11 points and Steph Whitten nine. Alexis Bennett and Jessica Smith had eight points each for Mount View of Thorndike.

CAHS 31, Katahdin 29

At Mars Hill, Vicki McIntyre put in a layup with 19 seconds left to lift the Central Aroostook Panthers by the Cougars of Stacyville. McIntyre finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers. Kristen Long grabbed 10 rebounds. Melissa Duffy paced the Cougars with 11 points.

So. Aroostook 46, LCS/MSSM 26

At Dyer Brook, Evangeline Goodall and Liz Goodall scored nine points each to lead the Warriors to their 14th victory. Caitlyn Good scored nine points to pace Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Old Town 45, Caribou 39

At Old Town, Sarah Wilcox tallied 15 points, pulled down 7 rebounds, Ashley Abbott scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to pace the Coyotes to victory. Amanda Cyr led the Vikings with 12 points including two 3-pointers.

At Van Buren, Kasi Parker scored 18 points to lead Greater Houlton Christian Academy to victory over Van Buren. Kari Brewer added 16 points for the Eagles. Ashley Wilson paced Van Buren with 12 points as Jennifer Ouellette added 10 points.

At Corinth, Hillary Keith scored 15 points to lead John Bapst of Bangor to victory over Central. Sam Maquillan had 12 points for the Crusaders and Morgan Chasse scored 11. Hannah Pray led Central with 11 points. Bekah Campbell added 10 points

At Eastport, Kirby McPhail had 19 points and eight rebounds as Shead outscored Calvary Chapel of Orrington 12-10 in the fourth to earn the win. Robyn Stuart had 16 points and eight rebounds for Shead. Hope Johnson paced the Sabers with 18 points.

At Calais, Nicole Osborne scored 16 points as Calais defeated Hyde Academy of Bath. Courtney Hill and Tessa Clark scored 10 points each for Calais. Brittney Harris led Hyde with 10 points.

At Bucksport, Bekah Flanders headed a balanced Foxcroft Academy attack with 14 points. Vanessa Lougee scored 12 points and Jen Seavey posted 10 for the Ponies. Liz Beeson’s six points led Bucksport.

Woodland 48, Narraguagus 35

At Woodland, Ashley Laking scored 15 points and Molly White grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Woodland Dragons past Narraguagus of Harrington. Kelsey Bennett added 13 points for the Dragons. Andrea Perry scored 13 for the Knights.

Lee 45, DI-Stonington 42

At Deer Isle, Morgan McGaw scored nine points to lead the Lee Academy Pandas past Deer Isle-Stonington. Audra Eaton scored 17 points to pace the Mariners.

Presque Isle 4, Gardiner 2

At Kennebec Ice Arena, Augusta, senior Dylan Collins recorded his 100th career point as Presque Isle topped Gardiner. Collins reached the mark with his second goal in the second period. He made it 101 points with an assist in the third. He has 52 goals and 49 assists. Collins is the fourth Wildcat to reach 100 points, joining Doug Carlisle, Darren Carlisle and Brandon Dai-gle. Brennen Shaw had a goal and two assists for 5-6-1 Presque Isle. Zac Campbell added a goal and an assist. Steve Ford and Mitch Sperry also recorded assists. Josh MacFarline made 46 saves. Zoe Fisk and Kevin May scored third-period goals for 11-3 Gardiner. Alex Wheelock, Mike Hersom and Forrest Chadwick provided assists. Chris Howe turned away 34 shots.

Hampden 4, Old Town 2

At Penobscot Ice Arena, Brewer, Cody McAllister had a goal and an assist to lead Hampden Academy past Old Town. Cooper Williams, Nate Baker and Nick Pease also scored for the 3-10 Broncos. Mark Eldridge provided two assists as Tom Burger and Andrew Brown each had an assist. Jacob Ward turned away 20 shots. Zac Madden and Joe Doucette scored for 1-11 Old Town. Cody Cross, David Wilcox and Derek Dubay recorded assists. Dan Lebretton made 40 saves.

Brewer 5, Brunswick 1

At Watson Arena, Brunswick, Dylan Fitzpatrick scored three goals and assisted on the other two as Brewer defeated Brunswick. Ryan Nadeau had a goal and an assist for the 10-2-1 Witches and Steve Farley scored. Chris Lopez, Matt Helfen and Dave McNally had assists. Eric White made 10 saves. Carl Sickel scored in the second period for 8-7 Brunswick. Erik Bodell and Ryan Salerno had the assists. Jack Wise saved 23 of 28 shots.

UM-Fort Kent 85, Hesser 83

The University of Maine-Fort Kent extended its winning streak to six games with two weekend road victories. The Bengals beat Hesser College 85-83 Saturday, then edged Fisher College 79-77 in a Sunrise Conference contest Sunday. In Saturday’s game at Manchester, N.H., Jimmy Lopez hit a runner from the foul line as time expired to lift UMFK to victory over Hesser. Othniel Hyliger tossed in 26 points to pace the Bengals, while Brandon Fox scored 22. Lopez and Hamil Bassue finished with 12 points each. Kevin Mulready scored a game-high 27 points to pace Hesser. In Sunday’s game at Boston, Bassue sank a free throw with four seconds remaining to help the Bengals hold on. Fox spearheaded a balanced UMFK effort with 22 points while Bassue netted 15, Lopez 14, Hyliger 12 and Yair Gao 10. Brandon Hamil-ton led Fisher with a game-best 26 points.

UMass Dartmouth 81, USM 56

At Gorham Saturday, Brandon Shelton had 17 points, Matt Walker 16 and Brandon Stephens 14 to lead UMass Dartmouth to the win Saturday. Jeff Macchi added 10 points for the winners. Andy Tracy paced Southern Maine with 22 points.

Johnson State 82, MMA 62

At Johnson, Vt. Friday, Bobby Shedd scored 29 points to lead Johnson State past Maine Maritime of Castine. John Foley and Ian Passino added 11 points apiece for the 10-6 Badgers. Jake Manner’s 15 points paced Maine Maritime (5-12) while Michael Wharff notched 11.

Bowdoin 65, Trinity 46

At Brunswick Saturday, Ryan O’Connell tossed in 14 points to lead Bowdoin College to the win. Darian Reid-Sturgis contributed 12 points for the Polar Bears. Paul Rowe’s 17 points sparked Trinity.

Colby 81, Amherst 76

At Waterville, Artie Cutrone poured in 32 points as Colby College upset Amherst on Saturday. Adam Choice scored 20 points for the Mules. Choice and Cutrone combined to go 29-for-34 from the foul line. Conor Meehan paced Amherst with 24 points while Brian Baskauskas added 15.

Husson 81, Johnson State 66

At Johnson, Vt. Saturday, Matt MacKenzie had 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead Husson University to the win. Scott Kissinger contributed 14 points and Brock Bradford 11 for the 9-9 Eagles of Bangor. Bobby Shedd paced Johnson State (10-7) with 17 points.

Emerson 79, St. Joseph’s 77

At Standish Saturday, Jeremy Shannon dropped in 27 points to lead Emerson College to the win. Bryan Rouse and Nathan Firn chipped in 13 points apiece for the winners. Ray Eatmon’s 21 points led the Monks while Tyler Kelley had 19 and Scot Vachon 10.

UMF 69, Castleton State 68

At Castleton, Vt., Josh Tanguay led three players in double figures with 21 points and 15 rebounds as UMaine-Farmington held off Castleton State Saturday. Eric Lelansky added 12 points and Ted Neil 11 while Eric Taylor had nine points and 13 rebounds. Seth Harrington netted 16 points and Kevin Cayea 13 for Castleton State.

MMA 75, Lyndon State 68

At Lyndonville, Vt., Jarred Sternbergh tossed in 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Mariners of Castine to the win Saturday. Jake Manner had 20 points and 19 boards and Derek DiFrederico 14 points for Maine Maritime. Brad Durr tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds and Ben Sackett 17 points for Lyndon State.

UM-Presque Isle drops two

At Boston and Machias, Eric Righter scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the University of Maine at Ma-chias to the 89-73 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle Sunday. Fisher College topped UMPI 94-72 Saturday. On Saturday, Brandon Hamilton had 14 points, 19 rebounds, seven assists and five steals to lead Fisher. Louis Williams scored 11 points. Ron Spencer led the Owls with 13 points. Jordan Guy had 11 points and Najee Nickel scored 10 points. On Sunday, Zach Armstrong scored 15 points for the Clippers. Gerardo Vasquez scored 14 points and Eric Kardish added 10 rebounds.

Hesser, NHTI top EMCC

At Johnston Gym in Bangor, New Hampshire Technical Institute knocked off Eastern Maine Community College 79-73 Saturday and Hesser College defeated EMCC 77-61 Sunday. On Saturday, Stephen Roberts scored 18 points to lead NHTI. Reno Gilbert and Jacob Lewis-Hamel each scored 15. Brandon Tomah had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the EMCC Eagles. Ben Maloney had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Billy Smith and Adam Knowles each scored 10 for the Eagles. On Sunday, Chris Murrell had 34 points to pace Hesser. Kendall Walker scored 21. Tomah had 18 points, Billy Smith scored 17, and Maloney finished with 11 rebounds and 10 points.

USM 69, UMass Dartmouth 41

At Gorham Saturday, Kaylie DeMillo pumped in 19 points to power the Huskies to the win. Kristi Violette added 15 points and 12 rebounds for Southern Maine. Tashauna Ashmeade paced UMass Dartmouth with 12 points while Madison Malloy added 10.

St. Joseph’s 73, Emerson 56

At Standish, Kayla Nowell netted 14 points and Carolyn Freeman 12 and 10 rebounds as St. Joseph’s triumphed Saturday. Alysn Ludwig, Casey Drake and Ashley Geel notched 10 points apiece for the Monks. Kathy Andrade led Emerson with 15 points.

Wesleyan 75, Bates 74

At Lewiston Saturday, Ali Fourney tossed in 17 points, including a shot with two seconds remaining which gave Wesleyan the victory. Lucy Sprung led the winners with 26 points while Sam LaCroce added 10. Val Beckwith paced Bates with 26 points while Lauren Yanofsky put in 15 and Jessie Igoe 12.

Castleton St. 64, UMF 49

At Castleton, Vt. Saturday, Laura Cary netted 14 points to lead Castleton State past UMaine-Farmington. Mary Nienow and Jess Banks added 10 points each for the winners. Erin Porter had 13 points and Caitlyn Laflin 10 for the Beavers.

Bowdoin 62, Trinity 44

At Hartford Saturday, Leah Rubega tossed in 18 points as Bowdoin of Brunswick triumphed. Jill Henrikson and Katie Bergeron added 12 points apiece for the Polar Bears. Claire Arnstein paced Trinity with 12 points.

At Johnson, Vt. Saturday, Shelby Bradford recorded 15 points and 15 rebounds as Husson University of Bangor rallied for the win. Jenny Rollins contributed 12 points for the 10-7 Eagles. Claudia Martinez led 6-11 Johnson State with 13 points.

At Amherst, Mass., Sarah Leyman poured in 22 points and Jaclyn Daigneault 14 as fourth-ranked Amherst College triumphed Saturday. Shannon Finucane added 10 points for Amherst. Sam Allen paced Colby of Waterville with 15 points while Rachael Mack contributed 13 points and Julianne Kowalski 12.

Lyndon State 65, MMA 62

At Lyndonville, Vt. Saturday, Jackie Wetzel netted 18 points to lead Lyndon State past Maine Maritime of Castine. Kelly Warren and Sara Fetterhoff chipped in 11 apiece for the winners. Tatum Welch paced the Mariners with 21 points.

UM-Presque Isle sweeps

At Boston and Machias, Erica Davis had 32 points and 20 rebounds as the University of Maine at Presque Isle defeated Fisher College 69-49 Saturday. The Owls also beat the University of Maine at Machias Sunday 66-34. On Saturday, Megan Korhonen scored 14 points for UMPI. Leslie Wadhams led Fisher with 19 points. On Sunday, Davis had 26 points, 12 rebounds and nine steals for the Owls. Korhonen scored 16 points and Emily Moore chipped in five assists. Carilla Fritz led the Clippers with 16 points. Ashley Johnson added 10 points.

UM-Fort Kent 66, Fisher 45

At Boston, Kristin Violette scored 17 points to lead the University of Maine at Fort Kent to victory over Fisher College Sunday. Ashley Ames added 14 points and 10 rebounds for UMFK. Jessica DiDicco led Fisher with 16 points.

EMCC splits over weekend

At Johnston Gym in Bangor, Eastern Maine Community College rebounded from a 53-34 loss to New Hampshire Technical Institute on Saturday with a 74-59 victory over Hesser College Sunday. On Sunday, Nikki Kaulbach had 25 points and five assists to help lead the EMCC Eagles. Theresa Spieldenner had 22 points and 16 rebounds, and Jessica Brown added 20 points and nine boards. Megan O’Regan and Wendy Hanks each scored 19 for Hesser. Karen Edwards added 17. On Saturday, Jess Hardi-man scored 15 points for NHTI. Ashley Harris had 11 points for NHTI. Spieldenner led EMCC with 13 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots.

At Orono, Elyce Thomas scored in an overtime shootout as the University of Maine tied Northeastern University and picked up an extra point in Hockey East. Jennie Gallo and Vanessa Vani scored in the first and second periods, respectfully, for the 5-19-3 Black Bears. Vani, Myriam Croussette and Dawn Sullivan provided assists. Genevieve Turgeon turned away 37 of 39 shots. Katy Applin scored an unassisted goal in the first for 10-13-3 Northeastern while Lindsay Berman had the tying goal late in the second. Steph Gavronsky assisted Berman’s goal. Leah Sulyma saved 20 of 22 shots.
