So. Aroostook 64, East Grand 61

At Dyer Brook, Dakota Sleeper connected for 26 points as the host Warriors rallied to avert a major upset. Cody Robinson chipped in 13 points and Tyler Robinson 10 for Southern Aroostook. Kaleb Dicker and Dustin Cropley tallied 19 points apiece and Abe Brittain 11 for East Grand of Danforth.

DI-Stonington 84, Machias 57

At Deer Isle, Joe Carter scored 24 points as Deer Isle-Stonington claimed victory over Machias. Dustin Powers scored 19 points for the Mariners. Eben Powers added 16 points, 11 rebounds and three steals while Jay Boyce scored 10 points and Evan Rollins added eight points and eight assists. Ty Richards led Machias with 18 points. Jacob Scoville scored 13 points and Jacob Stevens scored 10.

Schenck 81, Bangor Christian 49

At East Millinocket, Aaron Hutchins and Jared Waite each scored 13 points in the second half when the Wolverines outscored the Patriots 33-16 en route to their 11th victory. Hutchins finished with 27 points for the winners and Waite added 17. Brett Bradford paced the Patriots with 26 points.

Van Buren 50, Wisdom 42

At Van Buren, Derek Rossignol notched 21 points as Van Buren downed Wisdom of St. Agatha. Johnny Allen added 13 for the Crusaders. Curtis Picard paced the Pioneers with 29 points.

Elan 48, Highview Chr. 26

At Eastern Maine Community College, Bangor, Sumner Queen scored 15 points as Elan of Poland defeated Highview Christian of Charleston. Stefan Rowe had 11 points and five assists for Highview Christian. Wesley Jones scored 10 points.

Islesboro 76, Averill 69

At Islesboro, Jason Hatch had 28 points, 13 rebounds and eight steals to lift Isleboro over Averill. D.J. Johnson recorded 12 points, 11 assists and five steals for Islesboro. David Sherman also scored 12 points. Devon Smith led Averill with 40 points. Zach Morros scored 11 points and Ben Pearson added 10 points.

Sumner 85, Searsport 46

At East Sullivan, Woody Huber scored 30 points as Sumner defeated Searsport. Dan Leighton scored 12 points for the Tigers while Matt Boyle added 10 points. Rocky Faunce scored 15 points to pace Searsport.

Orono 65, Penquis 54

At Orono, Joel Riemersma scored 17 points and Kash Keezer had 16 to help lead the Red Riots past Penquis of Milo. Lee Hecker had 11 points, Lee Paul added 10, and A.J. Coleman had seven assists for the Riots. Ryan Bailey led the Patriots with 15 points and Bryan Russell added 11.

Calais 56, Woodland 43

At Woodland, Jeremy Carr scored 18 points as Calais beat Woodland. Cal Shorey had 11 points for the Blue Devils. Jordan Leeman scored 10. Ben Sears led the Dragons with 18 points. Chad James chipped in 14 points.

PCHS 62, Stearns 60

At Guilford, Cody Briggs scored at the buzzer after grabbing an offensive rebound to help the Piscataquis Community Pirates hand the Minutemen their first loss of the season. The Pirates’ win avenged an early season loss of 76-33 to Minutemen. Briggs scored four points in the second overtime and grabbed five rebounds, the final one coming off a missed 3-pointer that he put back in from eight feet out. PCHS, which was down 44-34 early in the fourth quarter, was paced by Nolan Lovell who contributed 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Damien Bridge chipped in with 14 points and Briggs had 11. Zach Sadlon paced the Minutemen of Millinocket with 16 points and Josh McDonald netted 14.

Van Buren 33, Wisdom 20

At Van Buren, Ashley Wilson scored 17 points to lead Van Buren to victory over Wisdom of St. Agatha. Natasha Bourgoin had 10 rebounds for the Crusaders Kayla Guerrette led Wisdom with 10 points.

DI-Stonington 49, Machias 37

At Deer Isle, Audra Eaton and Erica Hutchins had 13 points apiece as Deer Isle-Stonington triumphed. Anika Powers added 12 points for the Mariners. Danielle Wormell scored 15 for Machias.

Katahdin 58, Lee 52

At Stacyville, Katahdin out scored Lee Academy 14-4 in the second quarter to earn the win. Olivia McNally scored 12 of her 24 points in the second quarter for Katahdin. Melissa Duffy and Jalisa Moore totaled 12 points. Heidi Sapper scored 17 points to pace the Pandas. Camisha Doten chipped in 11 points.

Washburn 46, Ashland 19

At Washburn, Rachel Palmer tallied 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Washburn to the win. Rebecca Campbell added 12 points for the Beavers. Jessica Jimmo scored eight points for Ashland.

Penobscot Valley 83, Searsport 31

At Howland, Casey McCloskey connected for a game-high 31 points as Penobscot Valley won comfortably. Kirstie Dawson chipped in 14 points and Michelle Keene 10 for the Howlers. Olivia Quigley led Searsport with 12 points.

Mattanawcook 58, Ellsworth 27

At Ellsworth, Katelyn DeRaps scored 18 points as Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln beat Ellsworth. Renee Libby had 11 points for the Lynx and Jordan Hawkins added 10 points. Catherine Carter scored eight points to lead Ellsworth.

Fort Fairfield 67, Easton 37

At Easton, Amanda Hotham scored 18 points and Courtney Churchill added 15 as the Tigers improved to 14-0. Whitney Clark chipped in with 13 points for the winners and Kelsie Wilson netted 10. Sarah Plourde paced Easton with 10 points.

George Stevens 55, Stearns 43

At Blue Hill, India Frazier connected for 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to power the Eagles to a pointworthy victory over the Minutemen from Millinocket. Maddie Parke and Sarah Brown scored nine points each for George Stevens Academy, which led all the way. The Eagles had handed Stearns its first loss on Jan. 17. Samantha Lyons paced the Minutemen with a game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds. Angela Levesque added nine points.

Hermon 55, MDI 43

At Hermon, Erin Arnold scored a game-high 18 points – including 10 in the second half – while grabbing eight rebounds and contributing five steals as the Hawks earned a monster victory. Victoria Davenport and Ashley Thayer tossed in nine points apiece for the Hawks, who outscored MDI 33-26 in the second half, including 22-15 in the third quarter. Ripley King scored all eight of her points in the second half while Katie Durgin dished out eight assists. Megan Phelps’ 13 points paced the Trojans while Sara Carroll added 12.

Old Town 41, Bucksport 32

At Bucksport, Ashley Abbott scored 11 points to help lift Old Town over Bucksport. Sadie Wight had six points and six steals for Bucksport. Liz Beeson added six points and seven rebounds.

Calais 64, Narraguagus 47

At Calais, Kelli Cross scored 14 points and Nicole Osborne added 13 to help Calais improve to 11-1. Andrea Perry paced Narraguagus with 17 points and Amanda Ostberg added 10.

Hodgdon 34, LCS/MSSM 30

At Hodgdon, Chelsea Sloat scored 13 points as Hodgdon held off Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Kellie Peers paced the Eagles with nine points.

Highview Chr. 37, Elan 10

At Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, Elizabeth Hanson had 10 points, 11 rebounds and four steals to lead Highview Christian of Charleston to victory over Elan of Poland. Anita Allard scored 10 points for the Knights while Alexandra Booker added nine points, six steals and four assists. Amanda Done led Elan with five points.

BOYS HOCKEY

Winslow 7, Old Town 1

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Nick Bourgoin had two goals and an assist while Devin Guptic and Justin Greenlaw each scored twice as Winslow prevailed. Dan Clark added a goal and two assists while Ryan Cormier had 10 saves on 11 shots for Winslow. Joey Doucette scored Old Town’s lone goal while Dan LeBreton saved 28 of 35 shots.
