CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Marcia Anne Goode Viering, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Skyline Alive Hospice, Madison, Tenn., after a long battle with cancer. She was born July 6, 1941, in Bangor, daughter of the late Orren and Lois Goode of Hampden. Mrs. Viering was a retired registered nurse of 35 years, and enjoyed her retirement, travel and family. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry Viering; daughters, Patricia Eldridge and spouse, Rory, of Clarksville, Tenn., and Danine Getchell and companion, Junior Stickles of Stafford, Va.; son, Martin Viering and companion, Kate McCoubrey, of Stuart, Fla.; brothers, Roger Goode and spouse, Nancy, Durwin Goode, and Loren Goode and spouse, Jeanie; sister, Gloria Jordon and spouse, Raymond, all of Maine; and three wonderful granddaughters, Nicole, Alexis and Lindsey Eldridge. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Linda. Marcia had many friends in Northern Virginia and Bangor-Brewer areas. The funeral was held 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home Chapel 1510 Madison St., Clarksville, Tenn., with Brother Tom Payne officiating.
