Will the division of Sears Island between port and preserve work for both?

An agreement two years in the making, which divides state-owned Sears Island in Searsport into a port zone and a preserve, was accepted by the Legislature’s Transportation Committee. Will this open the door to a container port being built there? Will the preserved area draw tourists to Searsport? Can both co-exist?
