Maine rolls over Albany

ORONO, Maine — Senior guard Kaimondre Owes came off the bench and scored 20 points to lead a balanced scoring effort and help the Maine men down the University of Albany 72-61 at Alfond Arena Saturday afternoon.

The Black Bears led the America East-leading Great Danes by as many as 23 points in the second half before the Danes cut it to nine in the final minute.

Sophomore forward Sean McNally of Gardiner had 14 points for the 7-11 (2-3 in AE play) Black Bears. Sophomore guard Malachi Peay added 11 and junior guard Mark Socoby of Houlton scored 10.

Will Harris paced the Great Danes with 10 points. Brian Connelly added 13 with nine rebounds for Albany, now 11-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
