BANGOR, Maine — Three residents on the East Side of the city reported items stolen from their homes on Tuesday, and police are looking for the burglary suspect or suspects.

“It seems like they are trying doors” to make entry, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday morning.

At least one of the crimes was “an attempt at forced entry,” but others had unlocked doors, he said in a press release issued later in the day.

The home burglaries occurred during the day on Jan. 12 at locations on Pearl Street, Maple Street and Dartmouth Street.

“Electronics and prescription pills” were taken from the homes, Edwards said.

People should lock their doors when leaving a residents, “even if just for a quick trip” and enlist the help of neighbors, he said.

“Neighbors should watch out for each other,” Edwards suggested. “Anyone seeing any suspicious behavior or people lurking around their neighborhoods, especially around a neighbor’s home and you know the owners are away, to please call the Bangor Police Department as soon as possible.”

Those who have information about the home burglaries, or who happen to see suspicious activities in the area are asked to call investigators at 947-7384.
