The Stonington Opera House plays host to two terrifically talented teachers this week as it brings storyteller John Spelman and circus and clowning artist Randy Judkins to its space for workshops and performances. Spelman, a Kennedy Center teaching artist, will lead workshops on storytelling for eastern Maine teachers before giving a performance at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, titled “Tales for a Winter’s Night: Some mystery and silliness; some politics, some Shakespeare, and a tall, cold tale or two.” Judkins is set to teach a workshop on ways to strengthen community workers on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 22-23, called “Juggling Many Roles: Community Leadership Skills for Everyone.” He will also perform at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23. Both Judkins’ and Spelman’s workshops provide a lead-in to “Winter Fest” on Saturday, Jan. 24, which will feature a full day of performances at the Opera House.
