BANGOR – Rosella Ellen Cahoon, 93, died Jan. 13, 2009, at her home. She was born Dec. 31, 1915, in Bangor, daughter of Henry R. and Carrie L. (Doughty) Drew. Rosella was the ninth and the last living child of 10 children. Rosella’s family was her life and she will be remembered as a beloved and devoted wife, mother of four daughters, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one nephew and his family. She enjoyed reading, cooking, camping, traveling and gardening with her favorite flower being roses. Rosella and her family had attended Forest Avenue Congregational Church. Surviving, in addition to her loving husband of 67 1/2 years, David J. Cahoon Jr. of Bangor; are four daughters, Susan D. Lord and her husband, Jay, of Brunswick, Linda A. Callahan of Attleboro, Mass., and close family friend, Kosta Lambros, Janet L. Sales and her husband, Charles, of Chula Vista, Calif., and her twin, Janice L. Cahoon-Sullivan and her husband, Lawrence, of San Diego; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a special nephew, Dr. Thomas Dwelley and family of Bangor. The family wishes to thank New Hope Hospice and Dr. Elizabeth Weiss for their kind and loving care. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Robert Bailey, pastor of Forest Avenue Congregational Church, officiating. Friends are welcome to call 10 a.m. until time of service Friday. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service.
