BANGOR, Maine — The Four Points by Sheraton hotel at Bangor International Airport has undergone $9 million in renovations over the last several months.

The hotel showed off those renovations at an open house Wednesday, and will do so again from 5 to 7:30 Thursday.

The upgrades include a redesigned lobby, complete with a fireplace and Godfrey’s Restaurant and Lounge. Other new amenities include an indoor pool, a workout facility, state-of-the-art meeting space and a renovation of all guest rooms.

To improve efficiency, the hotel will now be heated by natural gas. Finally, the hotel replaced three aboveground 1,000-gallon gas tanks with three underground tanks of the same size and modified the existing drop-off and arrival driveway and sidewalk.

The Four Points by Sheraton at BIA is owned and operated by Connecticut-based New Castle Hotel Corp., which manages dozens of hotels across the country, including the Hilton Garden Inn at Portland International Jetport.
