BRUCE WAYNE SMITH

HERMON – Bruce W. Smith, 56, died unexpectedly Jan. 12, 2009. He was born March 18, 1952, in Harrington, the son of Gleason L. Smith and Phyllis (Grant) Decker. Bruce was employed with Webber Energy Fuels for 32 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a proud member of NRA. Bruce was a very generous man, and he was always ready to help family and friends. He loved his family, including the family dog, Mariah, and enjoyed spending time with them in the new addition to their home that was built with a new woodstove, which he truly admired and enjoyed. Surviving are his wife, Florence A. (Noyes) Smith of Hermon; his mother, Phyllis Decker of Harrington; two daughters, Kim Smith of Virginia and Amanda Smith of Bangor; stepchildren, Louis Moleon III of Old Orchard, Randy Moleon and his wife, Sonya, of Wells, and Delilah Moleon of Florida; two sisters, Carolyn “Cally” Griffin of Hancock, and Lorry DiMarco and her husband, Al, of Gouldsboro; one brother, John Smith and his wife, Pam, of Stafford Springs, Conn.; two stepbrothers, Steven Green and his wife, Linda, of Glenburn, and Danny Worcester and his wife, Dawn, of Stetson; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many special friends. His father; his first wife, Linda; and a brother, Carroll “Gunny” Smith, predeceased him. Relatives and friends are invited to call 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating.
