CARIBOU, Maine — Subzero temperatures are reported across portions of Maine and forecasters warn that even colder weather is slated to move into the state later in the week.

The National Weather Service in Caribou says overnight lows Monday dipped to 22 below in Van Buren, 19 below in Allagash, 18 below in Presque Isle and Clayton Lake and 13 below in Caribou.

In southern Maine, most locations reported overnight lows in the single numbers.

Forecasts called for a slight warm-up Tuesday before colder weather moves in on Thursday, when temperatures in Aroostook County could plummet to 25 below.
