BELFAST, Maine — Perimeter Gallery recently opened an exhibition of woodcuts by Portland artist Anna Hepler.

The Wolfecut series, created over the past two years and printed at Wolfe Editions in Portland, includes a suite of 17 color woodcuts as well as a number of black-and-white pieces, both small in scale and as large as 4-by-5-feet.

Hepler is a faculty member in the art department at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, and has taught at the Maine College of Art in Portland, the Oregon College of Art and Craft, and Whitman College in Washington. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and her work can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Art, the Tate Gallery in London and the DeCordova Museum, as well as many college and university special collections.

Perimeter Gallery is located in Chase’s Daily, at 96 Main St. in Belfast. Gallery hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.
