BANGOR, Maine — James Breece, vice chancellor of academic affairs for the University of Maine System, will address the state’s economic forecast in his keynote speech at the annual business breakfast with the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce as host.
The breakfast and official 98th annual meeting of the Chamber will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Black Bear Inn in Orono.
The next week, the Chamber will hold its annual awards dinner from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Bangor Civic Center.
Businesses and individuals to be honored include: John M. Rohman, Norbert X. Dowd Award; Miller Drug, Chairman’s Business of the Year; George Eaton, Chairman‘s Community Service Award; U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud, Catherine Lebowitz Award for Public Service; Bangor Humane Society, Nonprofit of the Year; Irv Marsters, Pro-Bono Award; and Anne-Marie Storey, Volunteer of the Year.
