BROWNVILLE and BOWERBANK – Mrs. Arlene M. Watters, 78, died Jan. 6, 2009, with her family at her side at Dover Nursing Home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 6, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Nazaires and Sophie (Gaudet) Richard. Arlene was very active both in her community and her church. She enjoyed the choir, parish council and the many activities of her beloved church, Lady of the Snow St. Paul Catholic Church of Milo. She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife, Kathy Watters, of Bowerbank; two grandsons, Michael Watters Jr. of Bangor and Matthew Watters of Dover; one sister, Irene Lucero and her husband, Earl, of California; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alton Watters; three brothers, John, Arthur and Donald Richard; and one sister, Teresa McGee. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Lady of Snow St. Paul Catholic Church, Milo. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Arlene’s memory to Lady of Snow St. Paul Catholic Church, Milo. Services are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
