Bangor police snag Oklahoma fugitive

When Bangor police investigated a fight between a Bangor man and his girlfriend early Wednesday, they found the man was wanted in Oklahoma and had $60,000 in warrants outstanding, Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

Richard Hill, 44, is wanted in McIntosh County, Okla., for two outstanding warrants, both for failure to appear in court. The first was a $50,000 warrant for grand larceny and the second was a $10,000 warrant for domestic assault and battery, Edwards said.

When police arrived at his Hammond Street apartment to investigate the fight at around 12:35 a.m., Hill went into the bathroom in an attempt to avoid being interviewed.

After his arrest, he was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he remained Wednesday night, a jail official said. Hill is scheduled to be in 3rd District Court today for an extradition hearing, an official with the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
