WINTERPORT, Maine — A Frankfort man complained of a sore wrist after being ejected from his pickup truck when it rolled over on Route 1A on Friday morning.

β€œI don’t know how you can complain of only bumps and bruises after being ejected out the window,” Waldo County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Bosco said of driver Robert Seekins, 26, of Frankfort. β€œHe was very lucky.”

Seekins was driving north toward Hampden in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup when the truck suddenly veered hard to the left, hit a snowbank, rolled over and came to rest on its wheels. Seekins, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected out the passenger-side window. The accident took place near Cove Road at 9:23 a.m.

Bosco said Seekins told him he suspected something broke in the steering mechanism because the truck lurched left without warning. A driver following behind Seekins witnessed the accident and confirmed that the pickup suddenly veered off the road, Bosco said.

The truck was a wreck and had to be towed from the scene. printed on December 26, 2014
