Orono High School inducts NHS members

ORONO, Maine — The Orono High School chapter of the National Honor Society inducted new members on Dec. 4. The new members exemplify and exceed the high standards in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character.

Principal Bruce Bailey, commenting on the students, called them “the cream of the crop” and “some of the best students at OHS.”

Students inducted were Carolyn Artesani, Orono; Emily Bottie, Orono; Charles Boyle, Orono; Kate Bulteel, Orono; Aileen Co, Orono; Kayla Curtis, Greenfield; Lauren Dwyer, Orono; Holli Kenison, Orono; Karl Koehler, Orono; Dan Lesser, Orono; Kirsten Mehnert, Orono; Julie Normand, Orono; Chloe Paul, Veazie; Amber Saucier, Glenburn; Kaylie Smith, Milford; Sarah Thibeault, Veazie; and Amanda York, Milford.

They join current Orono High School National Honor Society members Philip Benoit, Sophia Arabadjis, Jae Bradley, Matt Claar, Patrick Egenhofer, Sarah Harrington, Ben Innis, Greta Landis, Ben Richards, Cathy Triandfillou and Chelsea Wagner.

“The entire Orono High School community is proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. NHS members are chosen for, and expected to continue their, exemplary contributions to our school and their communities. They are role models for current and future OHS students,” said Shana Goodall, NHS adviser.
