ELLSWORTH, Maine — A Trenton woman who drove off Bayside Road early in the morning of Dec. 24 was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of intoxicants, operating after suspension, resisting arrest and assault.

Shauna McCurry, 30, refused to submit to a blood alcohol test, according to Sgt. Glenn Moshier of the Ellsworth Police Department.

“She was very combative toward the officer,” he said. “At one point, a scuffle ensued and she was taken to the ground in order to be handcuffed.”

McCurry was taken to Hancock County Jail, he said, where she initially kicked a corrections officer. She later was released from jail.
