Millinocket police are looking for additional information about a fight early Sunday during which a Medway man was stabbed several times.

The altercation happened in a parking lot outside of Highlands Tavern on Central Street at around 1:25 a.m., after the bar had closed.

A Medway man, 26-year-old Daniel Deschaine, apparently was slashed and stabbed several times in the thigh, lower back and abdomen, according to Sgt. Aaron Brooker with the Millinocket Police Department.

Deschaine suffered what Brooker described as fairly serious injuries and was taken to Millinocket Regional Hospital. His condition was unavailable Sunday night.

Brooker said he believes witnesses to the fight quickly scattered after Deschaine was stabbed and before police arrived on the scene. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Millinocket Police Department at 723-7019.
