GRAY, Maine — The National Weather Service is calling for the possibility of significant snow across Maine as a second winter storm in three days bears down on the state.

The weather service said a nor’easter will bring high winds, cold temperatures and heavy snow across the state Sunday into Monday.

Mainers will wake up Sunday morning to frigid temperatures ranging from the single digits in the south to 15 below zero or colder in northern sections.

The storm follows a storm Friday in which parts of southern Maine received between 6 and 10 inches of snow, while northern Maine was spared.
