BELFAST, Maine — Waldo County Home Health & Hospice has been named to the 2008 HomeCare Elite, a list of the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified home health care providers in the country.
The agencies are ranked based on three performance measures: quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.
The 2008 HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry and is compiled by OCS Inc., a provider of health care informatics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of the independent newsletter Home Health Line.
“The 2008 HomeCare Elite winners exemplify a commitment to providing their patients with optimum care while performing at the highest level,” Nancy Buller, senior director of marking communications at OCS Inc., said in a press release.
Waldo County Home Health & Hospice’s professional staff of caregivers meets patients’ needs in the comfort of their own homes with skill, compassion and dedication. Home care services can include nurses, home health aides, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists.
Hospice services are provided to patients and their families, including pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, home health aides, medication and medical equipment, and help with feeling comfortable with the process of dying.
