Gas in Maine 13 cents higher than national average

PORTLAND, Maine — Gas prices in Maine continue to fall, but they’re still above the national average.

According to AAA, which tracks prices nationwide, a gallon of regular was averaging $1.79 in Maine on Monday. That’s 13 cents higher than the national average.

Gas prices in Maine are down 50 cents a gallon in the past month, and are $1.33 lower than a year ago.

AAA says Diesel fuel is selling for $2.76 a gallon on average, down from $3.11 a month ago.
