Orono schools receive grants for artists, skis


ORONO, Maine — The Orono School Committee recently learned it was approved for $6,950 in grants from the Orono Education Foundation.

The grant money will go to support the Nordic ski team, visiting artists program, requests for computer hardware and software, classroom materials, and sponsorship of attendance at the National Science Teachers’ Association Conference.

The Orono Education Association is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1995 which exclusively supports Orono public schools. Those who want to contribute may contact the Orono superintendent’s office at 866-5521.
