BANGOR, Maine — Forced to close temporarily after the building that housed it was sold, Diva’s Gentleman’s Club has found a new home.

The exotic dance club is in the process of relocating to 190 Harlow St., in a space above Club Gemini and next door to Diversified Ink, a Bangor tattoo studio, according to an announcement on Diva’s Web site.

Though Diva’s owner, Diane Cormier, could not be reached Friday for comment, the club’s Web site announcement noted that a reopening date was not yet set. It stated that patrons could contact the club by telephone for details.

Diva’s had been operating at 65 State St. for more than a decade when the building’s former owner, Bangor businessman David Lawler, sold it in October to Chris Ruhlin.

In an interview before the sale, Ruhlin, who owns Herbal Tea and Tobacco Co. at 44 Main St., said he planned to restore the building and relocate his current retail operation there.

Ruhlin said he wanted to create rental living space on the upper levels and that he also hoped to install an art glass studio and gallery space for his own blown-glass objects as well as those created by nearly a dozen other glass artisans from throughout the region.
